Not so new mom :)
Howdy all! :D Quick intro...I'm the oldest of 5 kids (18 1/2 years between the oldest and youngest!), my 1st son is now 12 and was a premie at 35 weeks. He was tube fed for the 1st 4 years, but now out eats me! Yes, miracles DO happen! XD I just had my 2nd son in June (almost 6 months now) and he was also a premie at 35 weeks. But, this time, he eats on his own just fine. YAY!!! :D He's even up to 8 oz per feeding! o_O We are lucky to have family in the area so we've had many opportunities to let him spend time with the grandparents and aunts/uncles. :) It's also great to have a "built-in babysitter" with my older son. He LOVES being a big brother! :)
My little one's newest thing is he found his "upper register!" o_O He doesn't just squeal with delight or frustration, he screeches at the top of his lungs! And, does he EVER have a set of lungs! There are days I want to shove cotton in his mouth, but I know from my siblings that this is "just a phase" and he will learn not to yell eventually. :)
We've also discovered that he is allergic to dh! :( Apparently the oils are different enough that my ds breaks out with eczema patches where ever he was touched. :( It makes my dh feel horrible. We have found that long sleeved and footed outfits are helping to reduce the contact and make it better for the both of them. I'm also talking to my pediatrician at our next appt. to see if she has any recommendations.
It still amazes me how 2 little boys can be SOOO different from each other! :D hehe But, that's also part of the fun of being a parent. ;)
