How do I get my toddler to poop on the potty?
He's been doing awesome for a few days w/o diapers...but he won't poop on the potty. When he has to go he asks for a diaper to poop in- I've tried to get him to sit on the potty with a book or something but he won't stay to "do his business." He's had problems with constipation in the past so I'm worried that if he holds it we'll have a bigger problem on our hands. Any suggestions?

I actually jsut went through this myself and after several days of my cleaning poop out of underwear or my favorite... off of the deck LOL... my son said he had to poop and so I put him on the toilet and sat in front of him and kep him there until he went. It was only a few minutes but the he found out it wasn't so scary and in fact was better than going in his pants! Mission accomplished... oh yeah, then we went and bought him a new toy as a special prize! Goog luck!

I am not a mother yet but soon to be I am 7wks......I helped potty train my nephew....He was a mommys boy and got sooooo upset when anyone else got attention. I poured apple juice in his potty and told my sister to put a babydoll on the potty and wait until it got done using the bathroom *wink wink* and I said to pick up the babydoll and ignore Josh and tell the babydoll how proud she was so on and so forth....Maybe try it and see if it works for you. Good luck on the potty training

well every time my son pooped in his pamper or even on the floor i would take the poop and walk him to the bath room to dump the poop into the toilet and have him flush it till he got the poin that he needs to poop in the potty. which he did thank goodness .. good luck hope its works for u
