Will I ever sleep again? I need some help… my 6 month old baby girl is cutting some teeth and has been getting up every hour!  I have tried my best to let her cry it out but it not only breaks my heart, but I can’t fall back to sleep when she’s crying.  (she’s in the next room and our wals are very thin).  This has been going on for 3 weeks now and I feel terrible durig the day.  Most days I can’t nap because I work part time and the days I do nap I almost feel worse!

RE:Will I ever sleep again? Here’s a question for you: when she gets up, do you go in and pick her up?  OR feed her?

RE:Will I ever sleep again? I try not too every time but yes I will pick her up and nurse her a few times during the night so she’ll fall back to sleep.

RE:Will I ever sleep again? I used to do that too and my bff told me never to do that because they are actually aware of how you’ll respond to their crying.  I thought it was crazy at first… but one I stopped our son stopped crying and started sleeping through the night!

RE:Will I ever sleep again? Hearing her cry kills me inside.. but honestly I keep hearing people say that and I guess I should stop complaining about being tired and just do it. Thanks for your help!

RE:Will I ever sleep again? Another thing you might want to try is using some soft music when she wakes up. Don't pick her up, but turn on the music instead. Classical, Smooth Jazz, New Age, etc. are all genres that I've used that help. Plus, most of the libraries these days have audio lending. Check them out to see if they have any of the children's music (lullabies, etc.) that might help. Then, if you find something, you can purchase a copy. :)  I have an MP3 player in my son's room that I put some disney songs and lullabies into a playlist for him. Then, I can just select the playlist. It's something he's used to, it's music I know is ok for him to listen to and it works like a charm! :D  We even have a "moving and grooving" playlist for daytime and some "chill out" music for nap time during the day. (That way, he knows the difference between "nap time" and "bed time.") Also, because it's an MP3 player, it's portable so I can take it with me to Grandma's or when we travel. He hears the music in a new place and he feels better because it's something familiar. :)
Also, if she's waking up that often because of teeth, you may want to talk to your pediatrician about something to help with the pain at night. We use infant tylenol from time to time, but only when he's really grumpy. :)
Hope some of this info helps. :)
