Dealing with Reflux Disease I am told that this disease is common in Premies.. My daughter was born 4 weeks early and has reflux disease. We have been taking her to the dr and specialists because it is so bad that she stops breathing. The only thing they have done for her was give her Zantak and a sleep apnia machine.

She is now almost 2 months old and it does not seem to be getting any easier. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do? We have been losing sleep because we want to make sure the machine is working correctly.

RE:Dealing with Reflux Disease my lil boy also has reflux.  i took him to the gastrointolist and he told me that zantac is a horrible drug for newborns to be on bc its made up mostly of alcohol.  he then switched him to axid which i give him 3 times a day and he has been a total different baby!  talk to your doctor about axid.. im tellin u, u will see a difference!

RE:Dealing with Reflux Disease That would make sense on why she sleeps like all of the time.  The gastro dr is the one that put her on that crap....

Thank you.. I will have to talk to them.

RE:Dealing with Reflux Disease My dr. told me to add rice cereal to my sons bottle and he is only 2 months old. 1/2 tsp per 2 ounces of  breast milk/ formula. It has seemed to help the reflux. He takes his ant acid 3 times a day and the rice has made a huge difference. We can now put him in his carseat with out him crying the whole time.
